Permanent Pacemaker Implantation
Permanent Pacemaker Implantation (PPI) involves the permanent placement of a pacemaker in the body to regulate the heartbeat. Before the procedure, a sedative is administered to induce relaxation. The insertion site, typically just beneath the collarbone, is sterilized, and a small incision is made. A sheath is then inserted into a blood vessel through which the pacemaker’s lead wire is guided and advanced to the heart.
