Shaun Suishams career likely over after injury sustained in 2015 HOF game

Shaun Suisham was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday morning after failing a physical. He released a statement in the wake of the move that sure makes it seem like his NFL career is now over after 10 seasons in the league. "Unfortunately, the injury I sustained in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game last preseason was catastrophic and has proven to be critical to continuing to my career," Suisahm Glen Perkins Jersey said. "My journey in the NFL has come to a cro sroads. I will mi s the challenge of game day and the preparation Max Kepler Jersey that is required. Change is hard, but I'm comfortable with where I am in life as a husband and father."That's not an official retirement announcement (the word "retire" isn't used), but "I'm comfortable with where I am in life as a husband and father" sure sounds like a guy who is ready to hang up the spikes. Suisham began his career with the Dallas Cowboys in 2005. He was released midway through the following season before catching on with division rival Washington, with whom he remained until 2009, when he was released by Washington and went back to Dallas. He then moved onto Pittsburgh, where he remained through last season. He was expected to be Pittsburgh's kicker again in 2015, Kirby Puckett Jersey but suffered a torn ACL during the Hall of Fame Game that knocked him out for the entire season. One player that is participating in the game this year does not seem too thrilled about it. Can't wait to play that bonus preseason game. Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) Pittsburgh cycled through multiple kickers after Suisham's injury last season before eventually landing on Addison Reed Jersey Chris Boswell. Suisham has been rehabbing, but he recently stated that he was not yet ready to kick.Rather than wait for him to get ready, the Steelers decided to move on. Zach Duke Jersey "Unfortunately Shaun incurred a setback in his recovery from knee surgery that won't allow him to compete in a timely manner," GM Kevin Colbert said, . "Shaun has played a significant role in our succe s during his time in Pittsburgh. He has been the consummate profe sional on the field and in our community. We wish he and his family all the best in the future."
