Tavangar’s vision was clear from the beginning: to empower consumers with “visual superpowers” through AI. By leveraging an open-source development platform, Brilliant Labs enables creators from around the globe to access their code and build innovative applications for their devices. This open approach fosters a dynamic ecosystem where creativity and technology intersect.

In January 2024, Brilliant Labs unveiled its flagship product, Frame. Designed to resemble the classic glasses worn by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, Frame are not just stylish—they are a technological marvel. 

 Brilliant Labs glasses are indistinguishable from traditional eyewear, making them accessible to those who need prescription lenses. Equipped with a sophisticated voice assistant named Noa and an advanced AI search engine called Perplexity, Frame aims to offer users a seamless integration of digital and physical worlds. This launch came amid a wave of similar innovations from competitors, such as Humane's AI Pin, Rabbit’s R1, and Apple’s Vision Pro. Despite these advancements, earlier products like Google Glass and Microsoft HoloLens struggled to make a lasting impact, highlighting the significance of Frame’s introduction.

Before Frame, Brilliant Labs introduced the Monocle, an augmented reality (AR) lens that could be attached to regular glasses. Like Frame, Monocle used open-source software, demonstrating the company's commitment to enhancing everyday experiences through technology.
