Son of Antonio de Giuliano de\ Medici, of the branch of the Marquis of Castellina, and the happy wild Beccuto, he began in the ecclesiastical career, obtaining numerous benefits: he was the prior of Sant\Apollinare, the superior of Ognissanti in Florence , the parish priest of Sant\\Ippolito a Castelfiorentino and, in 1506, replaced the late brother Averardo as canon of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore; he resigned the canonicate in 1532.
